The map displayed below depicts expected NOAA Weather Radio expansion sites as known on the above date. It should not be assumed to be a final map of the new sites. Keep in mind the map, and sites it depicts, may be revised and updated at any time, until this project is completed.
The GREEN circles depict the approximate coverage of new transmitter sites.
The RED circles depict the approximate coverage of proposed transmitter sites.
In north-cental Iowa, the ORANGE oval depicts an area in which new transmitter sites have yet to be finalized.
Keep in mind, the area served by the new transmitter sites as depicted on the map below is approximate due to transmitter antenna height on a tower, surrounding terrain effects, power output, current weather and solar flares, and receiver location and height.
